Women Against Poverty

Women Against Poverty (WAP) is a non-government organization registered in 2012 under NGO Act No 24 of 2002 and operating in Tanzania Main Land. Its main ambition is to improve the social-economic conditions of women and adolescent girls live in disadvantage or vulnerable environment (i.e. low-income families, widows/single parent, orphans, affected with HIV/AIDS)
WAP is working hard to support special needs for in school girls at primary and secondary levels especially stationaries (i.e. exercise books, pens, books, mathematical sets, uniforms, etc.) and school fees from low-income families or orphan or living with HIV/AIDS. The target is to build a better future for girls as stipulated in Tanzania development vision 2025 and Global sustainable development goal (SDG) 2030 for them to access quality education (Goal 4). Also, the organization provides hand-on tools including entrepreneurship knowledge and skills to women so as to empower them by engaging in income-generating activities and as a result improve their livelihood.
To fulfill its ultimate goal “improve the social-economic status of women and adolescent girls lives in a vulnerable environment”, the organization welcome support from different partners/donors and individuals from different areas/sector.
